The Disappearance of Master Lore Keeper Ofrim
Two months prior to this campaign’s opening, a tragedy occurred. Master Lore Keeper Ofrim Osson took his eldest son Obric to Thunderhold Temple in order to initiate him as Apprentice Lore Keeper. Though the Temple had long become inhabited with wild beasts and strange monsters, the Lore Keepers still journeyed there for this special ceremony. While on this journey, something happened. When the two dwarves returned, Ofrim was not himself, and Obric remembered nothing of the journey. The only clue to the events which transpired on their journey was the damage to their armor and the wounds on their flesh; the two had seen some combat and had taken a beating.
Within weeks of their return, Rebrik becomes the focus of joint orcish-and-goblin raids. In one of these raids, Ofrim is taken captive. Despite his previous attempts to glean some insight to the knowledge his father carried, Ofrim remains clueless as to the secret importance of the obelisk. Osric, Warden of the Sacred Stone, is ordered to envoy to Autumn Ridge and request help in defending their village from the recent and rising attacks.
